About Teresa Bell

Teresa is an experienced arts administrator, facilitator, writer, performer, producer, teacher and director.

Teresa has a passion for the interaction of words, art forms, audiences and space. This passion has seen her establish Australia’s first national poetry centre, be shortlisted for the highly esteemed Dorothy Hewett Award, win the George Fairfax Award for her play Taize,produce award-winning short films for the Melbourne Film Festival, direct and tour theatre to most states in Australia, create the national Café Poet program, publish two books of poetry, write and perform a one woman show on Joy Hester and perform it in most galleries in Australia, develop radio drama for ABC Radio National, produce and perform poetry with Kamahl for the Byron Bay Writers’ Festival and create programs to support writers around the country.

Teresa has a Doctorate in Creative Writing from the University of Wollongong and is a member of the Wedderburn Artist community.
